Where did the last 3 months go?!

This year has already been a whirlwind for some of us. From coronavirus to flooding the start of 2022 has been crazy. Now that April is here, we have a visit from the Easter Bunny to bring up our spirits!

Now we all know the best part of Easter is the chocolate; BUT!, it is extremely important to remember that chocolate is NOT good for your pets! Chocolates should be stored in a place where your furry friends cannot get to them.

Chocolate contains an alkaloid called theobromine, wherein most animals, it is quite difficult to digest and metabolise. The ingestion of chocolate can affect various organ systems. Thus, it can be fatal! If you suspect or have witnessed your pet getting into your not-so-secret chocolate stash, contact your vet immediately!

Signs of chocolate toxicity may include:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Increased heart rate
  • Restlessness, hyperactivity
  • Hypersalivation (drooling)
  • Panting
  • Increased drinking and urination
  • Bloating
  • Muscle tremors
  • Seizures

Our Easter/ ANZAC day trading hours are:
