Iil' thought essay - moving

Blank walls. Boxes packed. Empty rooms. I look around at the space that I’ve called home for many months and the story that existed within this defined space is palpable. The laughter. The tears. The anger. The joy. The friendship. The change. The chapter is closing and the story of this place is at its end. 

As I look at the doorway, the kitchen, my bedroom, and the living room I see the supercut of what my life, my story, was in this apartment. The images are crisp and clear of those ordinary moments. I vividly see the moment where we stayed up late chatting in the kitchen. The various times where we fell to the floor laughing. The mornings where we stumble out of our room and see the mess from the night before. The heartache, the fear, the excitement, the questioning of the future, and the unknowns that were about to unfold, all there. All of it present. 

The life and home that was breathed into this apartment is now neatly tied up and put into boxes, pictures, and memories. This chapter is closed and now the page turns to the next. 

As the page turns, it reveals something eerily similar. Blank walls. Boxes packed. Empty rooms. But now, there aren’t memories of what was it has the dreams of what will be. It is the story of potential, possibility, and a mystery waiting to unfold. A blank page ready for me to begin breathing life into it. So, let’s let it begin.
