Employee Wellness Challenge Kick-Off Event |

The Wellness Program will be hosting its kick-off event of the new year on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Precinct 2 Indoor Sports Complex in Pharr! It will be in conjunction with the Precinct 2 Wellness Market. At the event, county employees will be able to participate in exercises and a yoga class. The keynote speaker for the event will be JoAnn Breaux, a registered dietitian nutritionist with H-E-B. Vera Whole Health Edinburg Clinic will also be in attendance to discuss its services, along with several vendors. |

Sign up for the eight-week wellness challenge above! There will be first and second place prizes in both men's and women's categories. Participants must complete the initial and final weigh-ins and lose the most body fat percentage in their respective categories. Participants will receive motivational messages, a list of healthy foods to assist in diet structure, and a list of at-home exercises and stretches. |

An all-new season of The Wellness Exchange starts up on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, only on YouTube! Diana Salinas, the Hidalgo County Wellness Program Coordinator, hosts health professionals to discuss topics that may impact the lives of county employees and their families. Some of the topics of discussion include cholesterol, stress management, family planning, and loneliness. Holiday Coffee Stop with Vera Whole Health |

Last month, the Wellness Program held the Holiday Coffee Stop event at four locations: the Sheriff's Office, the courthouse, the Annex Building, and the Administration Building. The event was an effort to give county employees a chance to connect with Vera Whole Health. Also, to enjoy some free delicious coffee from Match Made Coffee Bar. |

County employees and their dependents over the age of 18 are qualified to participate in the Preventative Measure Program. They must also be covered by the county's medical insurance, Aetna. To be eligible, you would need to complete: - Aetna Online Health Risk Assessment
- Annual physical exam
- Lab work at Quest or Labcorp
