Church Council - Feasibility Study Discussion The church council met last night and discussed the results of the feasibility study report and it was decided that we would move forward with a capital campaign with the assistance of Mark Davy & Associates. The report showed a very positive response to the building upgrade plan, with an above average number of members responding. While the amount expected to be raised through a capital campaign may not be enough to complete the projects presented, the funds would allow for much needed upgrades and remodeling. The building team will consult with Brunton Architect on remodel possibilities within the anticipated budget. Church Council will meet again on Thursday, July 20, at 7:00 pm, the regularly scheduled third Thursday of the month. We will post a reminder, along with the agenda in the newsletter in the week preceding each council meeting. KoWaKan Youth Camping Trip "Ko Wakan" is a Lakota phrase meaning "Place of the Almighty" and is the name of the United Methodist Base Camp located in the Superior National Forest, east of Ely, MN. The camp is comprised of 40 acres bordering the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and it is the only site on Section 12 Lake. This is a required event for all confirmation students and is also open to all youth in grades 6 - 12 and their parents/ guardians. Prayer Concerns Visit the Hilltop Facebook Group to share prayer concerns and community needs with one another. If the church has any ministry needs, those will be posted in the Facebook group. Please pray for Lorna Kennedy, who is in surgery today at Methodist Hospital. She is having knee replacement and will be hospitalized for five day before moving to Pathstone for rehabilitation. Please pray for Dianne Daby as she prepares for surgery, related to diabetes complications, on June 13. Please continue to pray for John Harrington as he recovers from kidney transplant surgery.
