Linda Sprau Art Newsletter June 2021
Greetings:
Restaurants are opening, and people are getting together. My art guild actually may have an outdoor, in-person meeting this month instead of using “Zoom.” Hallelujah!
I am still taking a “Zoom” painting class called “Expressive Painting.”
It’s helping me learn how to plan my artwork, as well as how to paint in looser fashion with fewer brush strokes. As promised in last months newsletter, I am sharing some recent paintings where I’ve tried to utilize these techniques.
The first example is a class assignment to try and copy a Master Painting. The one I chose was “Sunlight and Shadows; The Newbury Marshes” by Martin Johnson Heade. Here is my version (or copy) of that, followed by a couple of originals of my own.
