Disturbances ... our Great Test

The first time I went to an Ashram in India I was amazed - and unprepared - by how much turmoil many people were experiencing, how easily they lashed out in ‘Righteous Indignation’, each telling the other what is ‘right’, ever so enthusiastic to impart this lesson... Oh, they did it quite so humbly, yet still with blinded ego ...

Well, it was quite the wake up call for me - you see, in my naïve expectation I thought that any Ashram would be a place of serenity, of quiet inner peace, of reflected radiance and gentle loving brotherhood-sisterhood - and NOT this platform of dramatic outbursts and displays of superiority ... until someone pointed out that the purpose of Light is to reveal where Darkness still hides, and by so doing give each of us the opportunity to transform ourselves...

And so, yes, the Ashram is a safe place where Pure Light allows our very limitations to be exposed, trusting these Higher Energies to help us cleanse and release our pettiness.

For me personally, it was a Test of Observation - not with judgment, or prejudice, but simply to cultivate a deeper awareness, of trying to understand the hidden reasons ‘why’... and should I approach this with Ego-Superiority, well then, by my own actions I would reveal myself to still be caught by ignorance and lower consciousness - in fact I would be wallowing in the same Darkness that I was seeing in others !

What a wonderful teaching moment, what a great lesson in Wisdom and Insight !

And this brings us today - a time of great turmoil, a time of revelations and great change ...

I see many people working hard to bring Light to the corruption that has festered, hidden, throughout the whole world ... I also see many who are resisting this change - some out of fear of what this unknown future may bring ... others out of dogmatic belief that they know better, and feel no qualms in imposing this on others... and many who simply refuse to acknowledge the need for change, claiming it to be others’ fault for trying to upset the balance [which, they claim, has ‘worked so well up until now, so why try to be different ?’]

And there are even those who, in the name of ‘Light’, see everyone else as ‘the enemy’, desiring nothing less than their destruction - and are quite willing to accuse even the most superficial offense as being hideous, repellent, and revolting ... without thought of consequence, or the impact of such on the future.

[Here I can’t help but ask if such is motivated by a desire to take center stage, of hiding behind a proper cause and use it for personal aggrandizement, or just to vent their petty motives]

So now we must all ask ourselves - “As we truly desire an honorable change, and deeply yearn for a better world, let us be careful that in our indignation at the corruption we are exposing, that our own words and actions do not mirror the same Darkness which so deeply repels us...

If we truly espouse Light, then let us BE this Light in every thought, word, and action...”

[and as so many more advanced than I have cheerfully told me: when we point a finger at others, three of our own fingers point right back at us]

If we choose to see the other as ‘the enemy’, as something filled with evil and Darkness, then we also fail to see Light anywhere we disagree with ...

What does that say about us ...?

Creating positive, lasting, honorable change cannot be achieved through violent force, nor through coercion / fear / or intimidation ... If we truly believe in Light, then let us be the Living Truth of that Light, and lead by example...

Powerful thoughts for us all to carefully consider... and so I embrace you all, my bright brothers and sisters, for we all walk this Path together ... Namaste ...

Mario C. Veo

Mario was born in Italy and grew up in Africa. From a young age he had deep and personal experiences with Spirit and Higher Beings, often communicating with departed souls. His quest for understanding this greater reality led him to seek out Masters and Spiritual Teachers from around the world. He has traveled extensively throughout India, studying and in pilgrimage, always seeking to refine his training. He is a Spiritual Counselor and Healer, a senior T’ai Chi and Chi Gong instructor, Feng Shui Master, and Shaman Initiate. 

Mario is in private practice in Denver where he teaches Spiritual and Metaphysical classes, and guides Seekers on their personal Path of Transformation and Empowerment.
