Congratulations to the winner of Five Tries to Get It Right, for guessing Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia from last week's photos. I absolutely loved this small city. It has a peaceful river, hilltop castle, lively farmer's market, wonderful public spaces, and a view of the Julian Alps in the background. Here are a few more photos. |

Fellow writer Linden Stewart recently interviewed me for her Substack blog, "Author Confessions: the Facts Behind the Fiction." It ended up being a fun interview about El Diablo and many of the stories behind why I started the Jessica Watts Southwest Suspense Series. The interview includes things about my years working in El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico, that just might have made it into the novels. I'm deep at work on the sequel now, and the stories to tied to real life just keep coming. Expect the next Jessica Watts novel early in the new year. |

What happens when three women each want to raise the same two children? As with real mothers, their own doubts, desires, and beliefs often get in the way as much as they help. Not knowing whether the girls will end up with their mother, their grandmother, or their foster mother brings suspense, and there are times when you’ll root for each of these women. You don’t want to miss Hadley Leggett's All They Ask Is Everything. |
