We are excited to begin this new year with all of you.
After the year-end break (read ‘a few weeks of indulgence!’), we at Miyara, are trying to get ourselves back on track in terms of our fitness and nutrition routine. All the festive food and late-night parties seem to have left an impression on our waists. 😅

While this can be utterly frustrating, it is just the way our bodies work around midlife. With the reproductive hormones fluctuating during perimenopause, our ‘well-meaning’ bodies put out their best efforts to protect the internal organs by depositing abdominal fat.

This awareness has helped us become more accepting of this bodily change and focus on the other aspects of wellness (not just the number on the weighing scale), i.e. toning the muscles, improving energy levels and mood, getting rid of aches/pains, and switching to healthy eating.
For instance, while the weight may remain the same, improving the above-said parameters definitely leads to body size reduction and has a great impact on the quality of life.
