Dive In to our Full Program

Our new look website is now live. Please dive in for the full program and all the festival offers including great food and beverages from our many partners in Bondi. And if you can stay around Saturday night for the outdoor film screening Girls Can’t Surf, we will kick off the fundraising campaign for a Pauline Menzcer statue in Bondi with a donation from the Festival and our partner The Hidden Sea Wine. Pauline remains Bondi’s only world champion surfer – very worthy of a bit of bronze and she will there in person.

 Green Joins Blue

We are delighted to announce a media partnership with online lifestyle and sustainability advocates Green + Simple. Their passionate team are sharing our conversations about ocean conservation with a wide local audience and also giving away some tickets to our Blue Solutions Summit. See their great interview here with marine scientist Maddy Langley about Operation Crayweed and our installation at Bondi Icebergs.

Blue Business Focus

The Blue Solutions Summit is shaping up to be a powerful business event next Thursday, March 10 when we gather with business and brand leaders, scientists, and government at the Australian National Maritime Museum to really drill down into what consumers want and how major brands and industries are responding in the sectors of fashion, fast-moving consumer goods, and finance in the blue space. Presented with Ocean Impact Organisation, we look forward to sharing participants' pledges to act and we will share this with Australia’s United Nations Ocean Decade team.  Limited tickets can be purchased.

 Get Wet With Us

Rain or shine, the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival will be the place to get wet in more ways than one. You can drive an underwater drone with the Australian National Maritime Museum sharing an experience with their fun underwater explorers and you will see sights not usually revealed off North Bondi. Check in at our Festival Info Booth at the Festival Hub in Bondi Park to find out about the free tours on Saturday and Sunday. You can support the Ocean Lovers Lap swimmers across the bay or even dive into Bondi Icebergs pool to view our Sea Science display.

Sunflower Sunshine

We are hoping the clouds clear the way for some sunshine power to our festival stage because this fantastic contraption - the Sunflower, from Southern Cross University in Lismore, is trying to get to Sydney to charge us up. It has powered stages at Splendour in the Grass and other festivals. Volvo Car Australia obliged us with an all-electric vehicle to tow it to Bondi next week - so keep posted on our road trip via our socials channels here. Head to the Festival Hub in Bondi Park to talk with the inventors and find out more about portable solar power.
