Sending best wishes to you and your loved ones over the festive season.
Well, I think it's fair to say that it has been a very busy month for me. I'm sure it has been no different for you given the time of year and the times we're living in. Still, the holidays are in sight and although Christmas 2020 will be a very different one to any other I have experienced in my lifetime, like you, I will find a way to let family and friends know how much it means to me to have them in my life, even if that means that time spent with some will be done so virtually.
One a lighter note, I also plan to eat, drink and be merry, allowing time for some reading of course, and maybe a bit of writing too, who knows?
Northern Ireland Festival of Writing Round-Up:
With the 2020 festival reaching it's conclusion just yesterday, we've had just a short time to reflect. What we can say though, is that the festival was a huge success. Myfellow directors and I are exhausted but very proud of how well received that the festival has been. A huge thanks to our sponsors, partners and of course those who participated as artists or delegates. Planning for the 2021 festival will begin in early January but if you want to catch up on what happened at this year's festival, click the button below.
Having done my gift recommendations for the book geek in your life in last month's edition (remember, please support your local independent book store), I thought it might be good to share with you what I'll be reading and listening to over the holidays.
2021 NEWS
What would a newsletter be without news? So here goes. As I mentioned briefly in the last issue, I am set to record a podcast in 2021. The mini-series, working title, Along The Write Lines, will feature local and international writers chatting to me about all things writing and hopefully sharing some of their writing secrets too.
I also hope to be spending quite a bit of time with the new woman in my life (don't worry, Mrs M knows all about her and she approves). Dr. Carolyn Harkin is a Consultant Criminologist with the PSNI. You would like her. You'll get to meet her next year too if you would like.
Of course , I'll also be dropping in to Farset Investigations at some point as well.
My Recommended Christmas Song
A couple of people have asked me lately what my favourite Christmas single is. I'm a huge fan of the 80s classics but as far as a modern classic goes, it would be hard to pass this one. After all, I am a Crime Writer.
Shameless Plug Time
If you're still looking for that perfect Christmas gift, you still have time to get your hands on the Terror Trilogy.
