Stillness and Presence.
There's something incredibly special about pausing to look out the window, and admiring the trees and the sky from our cozy confined spaces.
There's something even more special about going for a walk, touching the trees, and feeling the wind on our faces.
And there's something absolutely magical about sparking conversation with a neighbour; even simply saying hello or exchanging a smile while passing on the street.
A deep and true honouring of what is real,
what is now,
what is fundamental to human life.
A stillness that's far away from the digital world, our never ending "to-do" lists, and our modern cultural pressure of feeling like we "should" be/do/etc.
What are you doing today to truly disconnect for a moment?
And I mean really disconnect. Not going to the gym with your favourite podcast, or practicing your self care skincare with a good playlist... I mean really disconnecting. Possibly even stepping out of your typical routine. Getting completely off and away from any tech-gadgets. Away from noises and digital voices. Potentially joining the community in your life (whatever that looks like for you... friends, family, etc.), or meeting new minds, and participating in real-life conversations.
But above all, seeking stillness— even if just for a moment.
Feeling it. The stillness. The presence.
The movement of the trees. The rustling of leaves. The colour of the sky. The bugs on the plants. The people walking by. The sounds of the cars on the pavement. The smell of Autumn air.
Notice the world around you. Get off of your devices, and seek a moment of stillness.
Honour what it is to be human. To be real. To be here.
And then take that with you into the rest of your day, and possibly even into your week.
ily.
