DGC July 2024 Newsletter
In this time of anxiety and distress, or wars or rumors of war, empower this organization, whose deepest concern is to bring beauty and peace to our community and the world.
Dear DGC Members,
I want to thank all of you for entrusting me with the leadership of this wonderful Club. The responsibility for a dynamic and environmentally aware Club rests with me and the Executive Board. We take our roles seriously. We want to provide a welcoming place in which to learn new ideas each month and get to know your neighbors and community.
I want to thank the Nominating Committee for the hard work that comes with finding new leadership. I owe special thanks to them. I also am so appreciative of the work of the Luncheon Chairs—Maura Wrynn and Gloria Brehl—for the June 6th event. The room at the Strathmore-Vanderbilt Country Club, adorned with blue and yellow, was a wonder. Special thanks to Pam Timoyanis for organizing the Raffles.
IT IS MY DELIGHT TO TELL YOU THAT THROUGH THE MEMBERSHIP’S GENEROSITY AND PAM’S SKILL IN ASKING AND REASKING, DGC’S RAFFLE INCOME HIT A RECORD ON JUNE 6TH. KUDOS TO ALL.
Let’s get our calendars out and make sure you have the dates for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Just remember not to park in the numbered spots at the Community Church of Douglaston.
