NEWS FROM DR. REID

Dear St. Patrick Families,

And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Luke 11:1-13 (Bible verse of the day)

Remember last week when our 5th graders helped their kindergarten prayer partners research animals for their unit on habitats? Well look at the creative dioramas the kindergarten students designed based on the research they conducted!

Our students made dog toys for the Humane Society as a community service project. They made 396 toys and raised $418.00 for the Humane Society. Thank you, student council and Mrs. Davis, for suggesting the project, and thank you families for all the socks you donated!

MACS has updated the previously released 2023-2024 school calendar. Due to feedback received from staff and families, January 2nd is now a teacher workday. Also added is a potential day off in observance of the Feast Day of St. Katharine Drexel on March 4th. In the coming years, we would select March 3rd – the actual Feast Day for St. Katharine Drexel. This will be the selected day off for all our schools should Bishop Jugis choose to honor our schools during Catholic Schools Week. The hope is that by adding this date to the school calendar in advance, it will help faculty and parents prepare for the possibility of a day off.

2023-24 Updated Calendar

So many pennies! The coins are finally counted, and the winner of the Penny Wars was third grade. They had the most pennies, collecting 10,620 pennies. The total raised for Roof Above was over $1200!

Book Fair - The Book Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, 3/14 – Friday 3/17, students will have the opportunity to visit the library and create a wish list on 3/9, 3/10, & 3/13. Be on the lookout for their wish list to come home with directions on how to purchase the books on their list. Parents are invited to shop the Book Fair on Wednesday & Thursday – 3/15 & 3/16 from 7:30am – 8:30am.

Chubby, the Charlotte Checkers mascot, will visit St. Patrick on Friday, 3/10 during carpool from 7am-8am. Be sure to wave to Chubby and be sure to get your tickets for our Charlotte Checkers Night on March 25th. To purchase tickets, see the information below.

There is no school tomorrow, Friday, March 3rd. Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Dr. Reid

COVID PROTOCOLS

We want to thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe and healthy. As we move into the second half of our school year we will be following our diocesan infectious disease policy for COVID. This means that should an individual contract COVID, they will be able to return to school after 24 hours fever free and symptom improvement. This aligns with how we currently manage all communicable diseases throughout our school communities. We are grateful for your collaboration to help maintain our safe environment.
