Restorative Discipline for Schools Virtual Book Club
With celebrated Restorative Practices and Equity Consultant Victor Small Jr.

How can teachers and administrators better deal with discipline, punishment, bullying, truancy, and other issues? Can community-building begin in a classroom? In Restorative Discipline for Schools, two educators aim to answer those questions, and more, as they offer practical applications and models, using the central belief that "discipline that restores is a process to make things as right as possible."

In the book club, as we review the main points and details from the reading, build

community, and expand comprehension of the general topic, we will discuss structural and cultural shifts needed to change school cultures.

We Want to Do More Than Survive Virtual Book Club

With celebrated Restorative Practices and Equity Consultant Victor Small Jr.

Drawing on personal stories, research, and historical events, Bettina L. Love, an

esteemed educator, offers a vision of educational justice inspired by the rebellious spirit and methods of abolitionists. Love persuasively argues that educators must teach students about racial violence, oppression, and how to make sustainable change in their communities through radical civic initiatives and movements.

In the book club, we will dive deep into Antiracism for schools. What experiences might your students encounter each day? How can we begin to address any of the harm students might experience? How does Love approach these topics? Come learn with us.
