“Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace” Dalai Lama |
In different ways, we are all currently facing challenges and need to reconsider our path of life. Luckily, it is when we go out of our comfort zone that deeper changes can occur. We discover and experience the unknown, and from there, we can grow wiser. For whom can grasp this opportunity, there is a lot that can be done. In this second newsletter, I hope that some of you will discover and learn important notions for a better health, a better self-cultivation, and therefore, a stronger mind. Stay strong, stay together, stay rooted, and stay safe. Cédric Mallants - Yuan Qi Acupuncture. |

Nutrition and ancient Chinese wisdom Food and TCM Syndrome |
As Hippocrates explains: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”, Chinese medicine also believes that the structure and content of the diet will help to correct pathological imbalances. And if there is a disease or imbalance, then the diet needs to be adjusted and adapted. |

Today's Acupuncture point: Tai Chong (Liver 3) |
On the dorsum of the foot, between the first and second toes, 3 cm above the web and at the junction of the first and second metatarsal bones. This is a major point to relieve stress and restlessness, calm the mind, pacify the Liver, free the Qi from stagnation, clear the head and eyes, and relieve rib cage pain. This is one of the best point for restoring the balance of the Liver and the flow of Qi, or for total relaxation. |
Press into the point with the top of your thumb, do 3 circles, release the pressure. Repeat (pressure - rotation - release), 3 to 5 minutes. Great to do in case of headaches, hypertension, any kind of body pain, blurred vision, irregular menstruation, restlessness or anger. |

Herb of the month: Bo He - 薄荷 |
Fresh mint has a cooling nature, and an acrid, aromatic flavor. This herb is classified in the category of "Herbs that Release the Exterior". It will enter the meridians of the Lung and Liver. |
Fresh mint will help to facilitate the expulsion of Wind-Heat, cool and clear the eyes and head, soothe the throat, facilitate the flow of Liver Qi, expel turbid filth, help to recover from early stage skin rashes, reduce pressure in the flanks, calm emotional instability, expel summer-heat, alleviate pain and sore throat. Think to use it when fever, cough, headache, red eyes, restlessness, overall sensation of overheating. Do not use if there is Qi Deficiency with profuse sweating, or if the Liver Yang is rising. Let it infuse 10 - 15 minutes in boiling water, cover the cup with a small plate to keep the Essence inside (easily evaporates). When sick or suffering from Wind-Heat (ex: flu), you can infuse the leaves with some Ginger and Honey. If you feel too cold, reduce the intake. |
