Today, October 27, Campus Bound Scholars joins organizations around the nation to honor the outstanding contributions of mentors! Since 2013 our mentors have been the heartbeat of our mission. Our mentors come from all walks of life, and give generously of their time to support our first-generation college scholars. Typically without mentoring and the other resources CBS provides, only 40% of low-income first generation college students graduate within six years. Our track record is quite different: 90% of our students remain in our program throughout college, and 100% of them graduate. |

In recognition of all our Campus Bound Scholar mentors, today we are pleased to announce a $10,000 Fundraising Match Challenge. An anonymous donor has generously offered to match your donations to support our programming including mentor training, scholarship funds, welcome and send off events, scholar emergency funds and more. Please help us reach our goal! |

Campus Bound Scholars was founded in 2013 on the idea that one-to-one mentorship can provide crucial support for vulnerable college students. Each volunteer mentor is thoroughly vetted and trained, then thoughtfully matched with one of our first-generation scholars. Mentors develop a supportive relationship with their mentee beginning the summer prior to college departure and lasting throughout the college experience. This relationship is nurtured through CBS events, in-person meetings, telephones calls, text messages and virtual contact. In addition, CBS provides newsletters and quarterly meetings to keep mentors informed, connected and equipped with tips and suggestions for our scholars. |
