NOTICE ON SERVICE TAX RATE REVISION EFFECTIVE FROM 1 MARCH 2024
Pursuant to the announcement made last year, the service tax rate under the SERVICE TAX ACT 2018 shall be increased from 6% to 8% on all taxable services excluding food and beverages services, telecommunication services, provision of parking spaces services.
On 26 February 2024, our Malaysian Government has also announced that the service tax rate for repairs and maintenance services would be increased to 8% simultaneously.
All invoices for taxable services issued from 1 March 2024 onwards shall be revised to 8% with immediate effect. The announcement by Royal Malaysian Customs Department can be viewed at https://mysst.customs.gov.my.
