POLYMORPH WORKSHOP

Taught by Jay Tobin (Creator)

PolyMorph is a free to use software and a standalone music production app designed by Jay Tobin using cycling 74’s Max MSP to create an app for both Mac and Windows. It’s a Swiss Army Knife for experimental, generative music making.

In this workshop you will learn how to make experimental music in polymorph’s gesture-based approach to music composition with a discussion and demo by it’s creator. You will also be able to take the program home and continue exploring.

Sign up for the Workshop!

ARTISTS BIOS

GLEIX is one alias of George Gleixner, a Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist with a focus on handmade electronic devices and instruments, generative media and audiovisual art, and music composition & production.

JAY TOBIN is a Brooklyn-based artist with an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design. His work deals with the connecting flesh between digital and organic, using both audio and visuals to draw connections between distinct worlds. With a background in musical technology, his work is often music-first in approach, with generative algorithms at the heart of everything he makes.

PERMIAN STRATA is a live visual artist focused on creating generative installation projection work using Touch Designer and code. He has run visuals for venues such as the Bowery Ballroom, and events such as Warper Party and Synesthesia where he works alongside musicians and performs using modulars.

ERIN WAJUFOS: At Erin’s core, she is a multimedia artist and performer with a distinct focus on new media art and avant-garde cinema, ideally creating content that flows from information to emotion.

Her work shares a similar theme of deconstruction, typically by appropriating cinematic sequences and twisting their functionality. She has curated and performed at Ars Electronica and Creative Code Festival.

ROB INTERFACE: Rob is a member of the Brooklyn-based electronic improv group co-function and focuses on live performances dedicated to the exploration of ambient techno using a medley of hardware devices.

RIP TXNY pseudonym of artist, Felipe Gonzalez; DJ and independent music producer from Chile.

LEPEZ ROYALE is Anto Astudillo’s drag queer persona. Anto is a nonbinary experimental filmmaker, curator and performance artist. Their work navigates the in-between, hybridity and the undefined exploring internal reflexive dialogs, anthropological observations and the psychophysical.

Hi, this is Anto. I have created this Newsetter with much love and dedication as a way to keep you in the loop of what I am up to. As independent artist we often have to promote our own work to find our audiences. I appreciate you taking the time to open this email and read through. You can check more of my curatorial work for previous and upcoming screenings. You can also give me a hand in the link below!

Millennium Film Workshop is a community space run by independent artists and volunteers. Your support is fundamental to keep our programming going.
