The Foundation for Healing
Part 4 -
So far we have looked at some very important principles - you are not your disease, you are simply experiencing it... however you choose to see yourself, that you will become... disease is stagnation, Life is movement... and by introducing fun and pleasure you can change the flow of Life.
Today I want us to consider one of the most important questions - Who are you, truly ?
This is the eternal question, and many have answered that “You are a Spiritual Being, having a human experience”...
Yes, that’s all well and good - but if I am in pain, sorrow, struck down by trauma... it’s somewhat difficult to be this Spiritual Being... After all, I have a duty to this physical self, and need to find effective ways to nurture it back to health... [rather than just dismissing its discord as ‘mere human-ness’]
So, let me ask this a different way - Who is this human self you call ‘I’ ?
All the teachings say that you are not your job / age / wealth / status ... etc., etc. ... but you do have a body that is experiencing your job / age / wealth / status ... so, who is this Being that is going through these experiences ?
If you can identify it, you will then know if this Life you’ve created is truly a healthy, loving, fulfilling Life... or if this disease you are experiencing is the result of some lack, or wounded aspect of your personality.
The key, believe it or not, lies in your earliest childhood memories... especially those around the age of 5 and 6.
By then your core personality was fully present and active in your Life - not yet imprinted and molded by social, religious, or educational standards, you were much more ‘you’ than you’ve ever been... How you played, what made you happy, how you saw and interacted with the world around you was true self-expression ... and that contains the Key that will return you to a healthy, harmonious whole.
I’m not saying that you will not still need more healing, or be under the care of holistic practitioners... Rather, that by remembering who you truly are - and how to interact with the world around you - you can now go to the very root of your identity, and thus your healing can focus more on your essence, rather than the symptoms of the disease [which, after all, is merely the latest message of the unbalances in Life]
By reclaiming the joy, the fun, the laughter, the playfulness... of your true self - that joyous child that lived life fully - then you once again invite Life / Prana to flow spontaneously into your Life...and now true and proper Healing - of your whole self - can take place ... A proper cure, and not simply the treatment of the symptoms...
Now many of you will say that you cannot remember who you were and how you played when you were that young... or that maybe you had a harsh and painful childhood, that you never did have ‘fun’ ...
And to you I’ll say - that is a very hard lesson, a very cruel past-life Karma... and I’ll address it more fully when we meet next - but in the meanwhile I invite you to consider what you would have chosen, had you been in a loving, nurturing environment... What you would have been like, as a wonderful, happy child ... What would have made you happy, giggling with joy ... ?
For, in truth, if we don’t get it right in this Life, how many more lives of pain and sorrow will it take for us to choose love, light, and harmony ...?
Remember - Life is to be lived fully... and joyfully.
There are many loving beings that walk this Path together with us... you are not alone...seek help if you need it.
You are all in my heart, and so I greet you, my beloved brothers and sisters, Namaste ...
