OUR SEPTEMBER SCHEDULE ALL MEN ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE BROTHERHOOD All Men are invited to join the Brotherhood. We are a Brotherhood of Penitents, that is, men dedicated to the practice of Christian penance. Penance has been an element in Catholic brotherhoods from their beginning. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches (cf. nn.1430-34), that penance is the outward expression of our interior conversion from sin. Scripture and Catholic tradition identify three main forms of penance: Prayer, Fasting, and Alms giving. Our brotherhood fosters the spirit of penance by teaching our brothers to pray to fast, and by organizing works of charity in which all are encouraged to participate. WANT TO OPEN A BROTHERHOOD CHAPTER IN YOUR PARISH? Our brotherhood fosters the spirit of penance by teaching our brothers to pray to fast, and by organizing works of charity in which all are encouraged to participate. We want to extend this to all parishes! WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS? Before any chapter of this brotherhood may be established, the permission of the pastor of the parish in which the chapter is to be founded must be obtained in writing The founding members of a chapter shall be at least three in number and minimum 25 years of age.
