We Did It! The KMJ Warrior Walk  2020 was on Hit! 

Every year, SCAA SF holds the KMJ Warrior Walk to bring awareness to the sickle cell disease. To continue this tradition despite this year's pandemic, the KMJ Warrior walk was conducted with masks and social distancing.

Sickle Cell Disease and Cold Weather:

Dos and Don’ts

 

  • Dress warmly but in layers and carry an extra pair of dry socks.

  • Stay hydrated (hot cocoa or herbal teas can be great).

  • Carry and use a hand sanitizer frequently.

  • Consider shopping online.

  • Minimize continuous exposure to cold and windy weather or wet snow.

  • Get plenty of rest and sleep, minimize stress, know your body and your limits.

  • Make sure you have pain medications handy to start early in the event of a pain crisis.

Free Phones

The telephones are programmed with 3 phone numbers, Antwan, NeDina, Kimble, and another support person can be added.

 

If you have a situation and are in need of assistance with resources and services, you may reach out to us.  We will do our best to support you.
