My sweet friends,
Wherever you are, I welcome you to find a centered seat. Discover ground at your sits bones or in your feet. Distribute your body weight evenly, side to side, back to front. Relax your forehead, jaw, and offer a gentle smile to the corners of your eyes. Soften your gaze; there is no need for intensity right now. Take a deep breath in and exhale softly through the mouth. I invite you to remember a time that you felt really safe. A time that you felt seen, heard, valuable. Remember a time when your environment, the weather, the warmth of the sun, offered you sanctuary. Remember a time when someone held YOU in such profound, empathic, safe space that you could fully relax and honor all that you were right then and there. Remember the kind of warmth given to you that only a mother could hold... Maybe that person is your mother. Now pause and just feel into that for a few moments.
In that space, anything is possible. In that space, there is a rememberance of potential, joy, relief, reprieve, gratitude and more love than you knew what to do with.
Now recall a time that YOU were the medicine, the sanctuary for someone. Remember when you held that unconditional love and understanding of a mother in your own heart for another. See that person looking back at you. See the way their body relaxes. See them open to you... maybe it's energetic, emotional, mental or more physical.
Very recently, I heard someone say that space-holding is a profound skill. I personally feel that it is THE most important of skills. In a world, a country, perhaps a family, that feels divided, this is the only way to mend. The good news is that ALL of us can hold safe space. Each of can be a sanctuary should we choose to be. See what happens, how it feels, if you place your hand on your heart and say, 3 times aloud or to yourself, "I am a sanctuary... I am a sanctuary... I am sanctuary". Is your body saying, YES? Is your mind saying, HOW? Do you feel a tremble in your heart? You're on the right track. This month we explore this art in all that we do. In our asana and movement practices, in our meditative art, in our writing, our conversations, in our learning and discovery. Together we heal and spread the good word that community is the medicine of our time.
I wish to end this month's message to you with some simple, yet profound, advice from Maria Sabina, Mexican healer and poet - "Heal yourself with the light of the sun and the rays of the moon. With the sound of the river and the waterfall. With the swaying of the sea and the fluttering of birds. Heal yourself with mint, neem, and eucalyptus. Sweeten with lavender, rosemary and chamomile. Hug yourself with cocoa bean and a hint of cinnamon. Put love in tea instead of sugar and drink it looking at the stars. Heal yourself with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain. Stand strong with your bare feet on the ground and with everything that comes from it. Be smarter every day by listening to your intuition... Jump, dance, sing, so that you live happier. Heal yourself, with beautiful love, and always remember... You are the medicine."

Heart Center Updates!
We are headed into another full year of holding space for you via Heart Center and online programming. It's been a really tough year but we are anchored and here to stay. Learn more about what we are doing to serve you in the days, months and year ahead.
Thank you so much for the many, many of you that took the time to complete our survey. It has made our planning that much clearer with your input and heartfelt feedback. We are all very grateful.
- Video On-Demand playback of our yoga classes begins December 1st. Many of you shared that you are juggling work, virtual school and more. Now you can take class with us anytime. Our video library will begin growing on Dec 1st. Know that all packages will include on-demand. If it's not ideal to purchase a package, you can partake in a 1 month unlimited video on-demand subscription (HERE). The video library is accessible via your MindBodyOnline login. Look for the Video On-Demand tab and a hyperlink via all receipts. Please respect that meditation programs will not be available for video playback to respect the sharing of the group participants.
- Our class link delivery for live-stream is now automated via MindBodyOnline (beginning Dec 1st). Receive a link for class from them no earlier than 30 minutes prior to class start. Allow a couple of extra minutes your first time using the new platform (it is not Zoom).
- Zoom meeting will still be used for meditation programs and workshops.
- Use Heart for your own personal practice or zen time! We are offering our space for hourly rental. Use for time away from home, work... OR broadcast your own yoga classes from a pristine and beautiful space. Heart will be cleaned deeply, is equipped with WIFI and secure access. $25/hour. Contact us directly to book.
- New Classes: Watch early in the New Year for new weekly Yoga classes: Beginner's, Intermediate, Restorative & Adaptive. Joining the Heart team, to facilitate our offerings for children and adults with unique needs and gifts, is our dear friend, Rose Widmann. Scroll down to meet her!
