GHOA  Reminders

Board of Director’s Volunteer Request

Ready to make a difference?  Join the GHOA Board of Directors - become an active member of the GHOA community.

Three Directors on the Board of the Golf Hammock Owners’ Association are serving in terms that will expire on December 31, 2018.  This creates an opportunity for interested members to fill these expired positions for a new three year term beginning in January 2019.

New Directors are first elected via the annual Proxy vote, results announced at the Annual Membership meeting in January 2019.  The Board then reorganizes and agrees on specific duties and responsibilities for each Director.

Interested members should submit a short, written profile to the Board Secretary, Deb Steuer at secretary.ghoa@gmail.com   This profile should offer some general details about the member’s background, and should include a statement of the member’s desire to serve in this capacity.

Don’t hesitate! The deadline to submit a profile is Monday, December 3, 2018 at Noon.

Words from the Acting President

With respect to new members, there is the potential of 3 slots opening up. If a member would like consideration, they can forward to the Secretary a simple history including full name, address, work (career) history. This info can be transposed by Secretary to the Ballot form to be distributed with Annual Meeting mail out.

With respect to Cormorant Point paving/drainage, the only item scheduled was just completed. Paving/drainage actions in 2019 with actual dates to be determined. Thanks for your work and interest in maintaining the Board in a positive fashion.

Bob

Acting President

From the Clubhouse

We want to thank all of you who attended our “Welcome Back to Golf Hammock Meet and Greet,” that was on Friday, November 9. It was a great opportunity to sample the food that is available in the Golf Hammock Bar and Grill and visit with community members.

The tips that we collected at this event in the amount of $533.00 were donated to Highlands County Veterans Service Office.  Also that evening, a drawing was started

for a 2019 single golf membership!  You still have time to register to win!

Come give us a try! Visit the restaurant for friendly service with fellow community members over drinks, a quick lunch or nice dinner - many food items on the menu!

The hours of the operation are  10AM – 8PM  Monday - Friday

                       10AM – 6 PM Saturday and Sunday

863-382-2151

McCracken Farms has become our new fruit and vegetable vendor.  The day and time is the same as previously set.  Wednesdays, 11 AM to 1PM, near the tennis court parking lot.  Going into the winter season in Florida, this vendor has a previous stop that might cause a slight delay on arrival.   Please check it out!

Let’s make this worthwhile! Stop and pick up some fresh produce right here in Golf Hammock.

If there is something that you feel you would like to see in the newsletter as a regular item, an announcement, or general information, please let me know! I look forward to hearing from you!
