Between March and October of this year, NASSP is conducting an extensive audit of NatStuCo. One of the most significant discoveries of the audit so far has to do with the name change (from the National Association of Student Councils to NatStuCo) and the logo change that took place in 2017. While members accepted the change, it was never clear why the NASC name that dates back to 1931 (or why a new logo replaced the one so carefully designed in the early 2000’s) was replaced. Neither the new name nor the logo have gained much if any brand recognition or favor from members. NASSP recognizes the esteemed history and significance that NASC has held at NASSP and in schools for nearly a century. NASSP is excited to announce that in the coming months, they are returning the organization’s name |
|
“National Association of Student Councils” to its proper place along with the familiar shield and torch logo that represents it so well. The NASC website will be relaunched to coincide with other coming changes. The audit is continuing through October and the launch of the new name, branding, and website changes will not be finalized until the end of the year. Please look for these changes in early 2024. NASSP is also launching an NASC National Student Council in 2024 comprised of a representative body nominated by state associations and officers elected from the general NASC membership. As NASSP moves forward with plans for this new national student group, they are asking for your input and suggestions by completing a short survey found at the link below |
