Greetings to all! I’m thrilled to share that the Third Edition of Publish Your Photography Book is out in the world. Radius Books has hosted several book signings recently where my co-author Darius Himes and I have had the opportunity to speak with many of the photographers who participated in our companion online course produced by La Luz Workshops earlier this year. We are proud of the educational impact our teachings and those of our guests have had on bookmaking journeys, from sage advice on the bookmaking process to enhancing reader experience through choices in materials and final book form utilized. |

La Luz Workshops has prepared a new offering for those who wish to benefit from this class, presenting “Publish Your Photography Book: The Complete Course Recordings.” In addition to Darius and myself our Special Guests included publishers David Chickey (Radius), Tiffany Jones (Overlapse) and Alan Rapp (Monacelli), bookmakers Alejandro Cartagena, Colleen Mullins, Sonja Thomsen and Philip Zimmermann; book editors Joshua Chuang and Denise Wolff (Aperture), book designer Bob Aufuldish, book producers Jason Burstein & Christina Labey (Conveyor Editions), and Jon Evans, Chief of Libraries and Archives at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. Our series concluded with a conversation with Chris Boot, the legendary book publisher and former head of Magnum Photos and Aperture. |

Whether being published or self-publishing small or limited editions and/or artist-made books, discussions and examples pushed the boundaries of what a book can be, from developing concepts to impact of production components to broadly sharing your book with its audience. La Luz Workshops is now offering “The Complete Course Recordings” for others to experience the entire course content. Those who register will have unlimited access to the 40+ hours of recordings, resources from faculty (artists, editors, designers, publishers and more), and can download my notes and links gathered from the weekly lectures (119 pages). Lastly, Darius conducted interviews with nine artists including Todd Hido, Mona Kuhn, Raymond Meeks and others who share their publication journeys with our participants. |
