Mrs. Lisa Ranney and UL Lafayette's Center for Excellence in Education are partnering to host a science fair workshop for teachers, focused of preparing for school, district, regional, and state science fairs.

STEM Extravaganza 2024

 

The Region 4 STEM Network Center is calling on all STEM teachers to showcase your favorite engaging activity at the STEM Extravaganza in May 2024. An ideal activity should engage middle and high school students, lasting 3-10 minutes, and should also be easily repeatable.

This event offers a unique opportunity for teachers to share their passion for STEM. Think of it as a daytime version of "science night" with exponentially more engagement.

Louisiana's Best Early Childhood Teachers and Leaders Award

The Louisiana Department of Education recognizes that great teachers and leaders are critical to the success of children. Annually, the Department honors the state’s most exceptional educators and leaders through the Teacher and Leader of the Year programs. The application period is now open to nominate the excellent educators making a difference in the lives of Louisiana children.

American Astronautical Society (AAS)

Space Competition

The annual Student CanSat Competition, organized by the American Astronautical Society (AAS) in partnership with the Naval Research Laboratory, is open for undergraduates and graduate students. The competition is an annual event where students compete in a challenge to design, build, and launch a payload system.

 

Teams must be able to design and build a space-type system, following the approved competition guide, and then compete against each at the end of two semesters to determine the winners.

FREE Virtual PD Workshop

CWPPRA is organizing paid virtual teacher professional development workshops using the WaterMarks360 Experience: Our Changing Delta! These workshops will focus on coastal environmental science and will feature virtual experiences and hands-on activities that will give users the confidence to participate in conversations surrounding Louisiana’s land loss crisis and restoration efforts with their peers and community members.
