Thoughts of the Week Well, our England football team didn't quite make history in the Euros in the way we wanted! Would have been fabulous to end '55 years of hurt' and lift a major trophy. But it wasn't meant to be! Well done to Italy who played phenomenally throughout the tournament. Perhaps our turn will truly come next year, at the World Cup. It makes us embarrassed to be English, seeing the behaviour of some of our fans afterwards, especially the racist insults that were thrown at the three young players, who didn't manage to score their penalties. What does make us proud to be English is the way the tournament brought people together, how it really became a beacon of light, after really testing times, and, of course, our wonderful players, who conducted themselves admirably and did their very best under what must have been insane pressure. We hope the defeat doesn't weigh on their hearts too heavily. To quote Winston Churchill, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." We can apply his words to our journey as writers, too. We continue doing what we love and, if that comes with success, great, but we won't stop enjoying it or striving to bring the joy of our words and imaginations to others! Something that occurred to us when we were watching England, was how confusing it can be to others to understand why, as a country, we seem to have so many different names i.e. sometimes we compete as England, sometimes as the United Kingdom and sometimes as Great Britain! Here's a summary that may clarify this for you: United Kingdom The name refers to the union of what were once four separate nations: England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (though most of Ireland is now independent. Only Northern Ireland is part of the UK) Great Britain This comprises only England, Scotland and Wales England The largest country within the UK and Great Britain. Its capital, London, is also the capital of the UK. Click here for some more information and maps. Does this make sense? No? Clear as mud?! It can still be confusing, even for people here! |

| | I need something a bit lighthearted at the moment and this definitely ticked that box! And I love the idea of a fiesty Granny! Blurb: I got his multi-million $$ ring stuck on my finger!!
That stupid ring. An heirloom my grandmother gave to me... And it's cursed. Cursed to bring love to its owner, apparently. Too bad its owner is me and I don't believe in this love bullshit.
Except, that new maid who just came in... She went and got my damn ring stuck on her finger! And for some reason, she seems to hate me. People rarely hate me... least of all women. Not that it matters. Because I'm getting my ring off her finger. And then I'm going to fire her. And no, I'm not going to bang her first. However gorgeously stubborn she damn well is. Though I'm sorely tempted to shut her sassy mouth up. And it will involve lips. Hers... and mine. But curse or not, she's definitely not it!
Review: "Lindsey has yet again written a corker of a book. It made laugh out loud...There is laughter, fun, hot sex all wrapped up in this brilliant original story. A must read."

| | I always enjoy enemies-to-lovers romance and all the tension involved, especially when there is family drama and humour thrown in! Blurb: He’s her worst enemy – but she can't walk away. Quinn Harry Roman is a scumbag, and I put just as much energy into hating him as he does into hating me. I don’t care how hot he is, I’ll never fall for his charm. But now I’m forced to live with him, and I’m not sure how long it will be before we’re at each other’s throats… Harry I've bedded a lot of women, but I've never met any who were like Quinn. She drives me crazy – but as much as I can’t stand her attitude, I’d still like to get my hands on her. And after my late brother’s last request lands me playing dad to his two kids, I have no choice but to go crawling to Quinn for help… Can this notorious billionaire playboy and his arch-nemesis see through their differences? And will their mutual contempt spill into something far more steamy and passionate than either of them could have imagined? Review: "Wow wow wow! What a start to this great series! Am so in love with the main characters and the chemistry they have, cant wait to read the next book.." | | |

| | Really love the cover on this book! Forbidden love is a favourite trope of mine and a darker romance is sometimes needed to bring light to your reading life! Blurb: People call me “Ox” for a reason. I’m tall, muscular, and handsome by anyone’s standards. Not even my scars can take away from my devilishly good looks. Riley is my exact opposite. She is tiny, gentle, and kind. In fact, I’m realizing she’s too good for this world I put her in. My only mission was to follow her, protect her — at all costs. It’s the least I can do. What caught me off guard was how she blossomed in the span of 12 years. Now, my mind keeps traveling to her soft curves. Her innocence haunts my dreams at night, her very being during the day. I have spiraled into an obsession that can’t be undone. Riley must be mine. Review: "Fast & furious comes to mind, the words, not the film. Violent, punchy, wrong on so many levels but still credible. So raw but captivating. The theme song "Take my breath away" was playing on repeat in my head as I got caught up in the spellbinding narrative of this remarkable author." | | |

| | I love a good box set that you can really get hooked on. And I also like a character who makes mistakes but that you can really root for. Blurb: Bailey is one of the best Surgical Technicians in the hospital. She is entirely committed to her work, as she wants to be the best of the best.
But every Surgical Technician needs a surgeon. Bailey needs a new one because hers is retiring. So, who does she get?
A HotShot hospital golden boy.
It all starts nicely. Strictly professional. However, she could not resist his charm and sexy body. Crazy sensual nights, extravagant restaurants, a beautiful apartment...
And then…..
All of a sudden, hell. As soon as he revealed his true personality, Bailey wanted out of this bizarre relationship. He was......... not even close to the exterior façade he had painted. Review: "A great series and well worth the read. Lots of suspense, action, drama and steam. Some great characters. Will Bailey ever find true love whilst pursuing her loved career?"
