April, 2021                                                                                             Newsletter, vol. 2

Dear friends and fellow chamber music enthusiasts,

We are thrilled to have received generous financial support from Indiana University! This $10,000 award is partially funded by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Arts and Humanities Council at Indiana University Bloomington through the Public Arts Grant, with additional support from the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement and the Jacobs School of Music.

The award demonstrates the commitment of Indiana University to partner with its faculty in support of the arts in rural communities in Indiana. We are deeply honored to have the support of such a prestigious institution.

“We are very excited about having a chamber music festival in beautiful Brown County,” says Brandon Vamos, member of the award-winning Pacifica Quartet which performs at ChamberFest on August 21. “This is such an ideal setting, and we can’t wait to perform for the summer audience.” The Pacifica Quartet’s most recent album, Contemporary Voices, won a Grammy Award at the 2021 Grammys.

“The ChamberFest roster includes many world-class musicians,” says Robert Waters, member of the renowned Fry Street Quartet, which will be performing at the festival on August 20. “It is wonderful to make music in such company!” The Fry Street Quartet will also be screening the cinematic performance Rising Tide: The Crossroads Project at the Brown County High School Auditorium on August 19. This film combines science with poetry, imagery and music to increase appreciation and awareness for the environment.
