Hola y bienvenidos, amigos. Hello and welcome, friends, to another issue of Backstage with MFT, keeping you up to date on concerts, press, publications, music, merch, and more! For this issue we reflect on our October tour, our new merchandise, and what we'll be working on in the coming months. |
Our October tour has wrapped and, as always, we met amazing people, stayed in amazing places, and ate amazing food! Some of our favorite places that we visited were the ancient and giant Angel Oak of Johns Island, SC, and the colossal and surprising Tu Viên a Nan Buddhist Temple and Statue Park in Gainesville, FL. We would like to thank Lydia Chernicoff, Jaan Rannik, and the New Muse Concert Series, Natalie Harvey, Warren Cobb, and The Town of Hilton Head Island, Ryan Wise, Kim Likins, and The Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island, Dr. Welson Tremura and The University of Florida School of Music, Dr. Michael Bakan and Florida State University College of Music, Visit Tallahassee, Seven Days of Opening Nights and lastly, The Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes! |
We conducted flamenco workshops, guitar masterclasses and in-class lecture/performances for several groups of students while on tour, including the third, fourth, and fifth graders from the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island. We hope to have inspired a new generation of flamenco fans, as the kids we met there from all over the world have certainly inspired us. |

The beautiful image of the sandhill crane from our album Felices Días was hand- carved into a woodblock, then printed and colored by Oregon visual artist Abney Wallace. Now you can dance like the crane in our new MFT shirts! Head over to our website to see the different products now proudly bearing this image. You can also buy our albums Encuentro and Felices Días at www.mftrio.com. Use code MFTMERCH at checkout for a 10% discount. Happy shopping and thank you for your support! |

We are now working on our next album! Look for collaborations from the trio with other artists to be released in the coming months. We will be sure to let you know when that happens. Until then, enjoy this video of our final performance of our October tour. At this concert, the trio opened the show for the Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes at the Adderley Amphitheater in Tallahassee, FL on October 20th. This wonderful set was captured by our dear friend Ian Edward Weir. We hope you enjoy it! While you're on YouTube, do us a favor by liking the video and subscribing to our channel. Thank you, Gracias, Mulțumiri, Teşekkürler! |
