A Second Chance to Join the Review Team

I goofed. There's a lot of new technology to learn when you're publishing a book. Last week I asked for readers willing to trade an honest Amazon review for an early, free copy of Tequila Midnight. This novel is set twelve years after the prequel, La Paloma, and shows a racier, "grown-up" version of Jessica Watts.

Unfortunately, I had an error in the program that allows the book to be downloaded, and only a couple of people were able to take advantage of the offer.

I've fixed the glitch, so click below to sign up.

Yes, please. I love giving reviews!

Audiobook Fun

Do you listen to audiobooks? I love them, especially when there's a great narrator (The Expanse Series, narrated by Jefferson Mays, and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, narrated (and written) by Maya Angelou, are two of my favorites).

I'm excited to announce that Tequila Midnight will be published as an audiobook, and the process has been fascinating. I prepared a three-page script with excerpts from several scenes in the book. In part because of the writers' strike, forty narrators turned in auditions in just a few days.

The auditions ran the gamut from an entire cast of AI-generated voices to extremely professional actors. It took an entire team to settle on the final narrator, and she completely nailed Jessica's character and relationships.

I receive a chapter from the narrator almost every day, and it has given me a whole new insight into my own novel. I can't wait to share it with you, and the audiobook will be available for preorder next month.

Are there any audiobooks you particularly love? Email me and let me know.

Summer Travel - Glamping Style

The first summer of the pandemic, I learned about glamping. Sleeping in a tent with a plush, king-sized bed and full, working bathroom, was the perfect way to keep our distance from others while getting to see the world. We drove north and glamped at Zion, Yellowstone, and Glacier national parks.

It was an epic family road trip and while we didn't "rough it," we did have to deal with cold and wind. I wouldn't have traded it for any other experience. We liked it so much, we're glamping again this summer, this time in Maine.

What are you most excited about this summer?

Haven't received your copy of the novella La Paloma, Tequila Midnight's prequel? Download it by clicking here.
