Culinary students fill large cupcake order for local company

Students in the culinary arts program at Kennedy School got a taste

of professional baking when a local company hired them

to bake 125 cupcakes for its company party.

Atlas Putty Products Co. reached out to St. Coletta's of Illinois last fall and asked if students would be interested in filling the large order.

Over a two-day period, students baked 125 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes from scratch and topped them with buttercream and cream cheese frosting -- also made from scratch. No boxed mixes used in Kennedy School's culinary arts program!

RAISE THE ROOF

We're CLOSING IN our goal to RAISE THE ROOF by building a shaded area

for students and Community Day Services participants to gather

for outdoor programs, craft projects and meals.

Our goal is to have the pavilion completed and in use THIS SPRING.

Help us reach that goal by donating here today!

Wishes do come true!

A CHRISTMAS WISH was granted by the Rotary Club of Orland Park

when it delivered dozens of presents containing art supplies

for participants in St. Coletta's Community Day Services program.

Art supplies are used in recreational therapy to help the developmentally disabled open up during one-on-one therapy sessions and to improve their cognitive, emotional, social and leisure well-being.

Rotarian Sue Linn, a member of St. Coletta's Foundation Board of Directors, said the Rotary Club decided to make the donation after seeing a few paintings created by St. Coletta's participants!
