Stressed About Covid-19?

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a new disease and what could happen can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. Public health actions, such as social distancing, can make people feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety.
 
Stress during an infectious disease outbreak can sometimes cause the following:

  • Fear and worry about your own health and the health of your loved ones, your financial situation or job, or loss of support services you rely on.
  • Changes in sleep or eating patterns.
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating.
  • Worsening of chronic health problems.
  • Worsening of mental health conditions.
  • Increased use of tobacco, and/or alcohol and other substances.

 

The pandemic has disrupted life as we know it—and many of us are struggling to come to terms with our new reality. While we can’t make stress and anxiety go away, we can adjust to our new normal by the following tips.

 

1. Wearing a mask

2. Social Distancing

3. Washing your hands for 20 seconds

4. Stay 6 feet apart from others in public settings

5. Stay in contact with friends and family

6. Find your passion and pursue it!

9. Practice Meditation, Prayer, or Yoga

10. Exercise or Walk

11. Find your Spiritual Connection (God)

12. Have an attitude of gratitude

 

Transformation and Transparency are the keys to overcoming any stress, especially in this crucial time of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

This autobiography demonstrates leadership, faith, hope, determination, and the list goes on. This is a great book to discuss with pre-teen and teenage young ladies, about the heroic efforts Malala demonstrated through hope and courage to change the injustice of the Educational System for girls in her country. Malala's miraculous journey teaches us the spirit to never give up, through her triumphant tragedy she overcame.
