Keeping Our Promises

Community engagement has been our priority, and this month was no different. The FSU School of Interior Architecture & Design reached out to us after seeing building plans, and wanted to see if they could test-fit different interior design ideas for a class project. Students from the program recently visited the site for an introduction to the development and discussed the food and beverage concept we hope to implement in the unit they will be working on.

Stay tuned for more updates on their work!

Leasing

We are excited to announce that Burn Boot Camp will join us as one of our tenants upon completion!

Burn Boot Camp helps their members on their journey to become the best versions of themselves. Offering childcare in a designated area that can see the camp, the concept aims to establish a healthy relationship with exercising at a young age.

We are looking forward to working with them on their community engagement events. Stay tuned for more tenant announcements!

Shifting Gears

Demolition and debris removal is still underway, scheduled to finish next week. We have finalized the building plans and submitted for the building permits. We are looking forward to pushing through this phase of construction.

Our project team continues to accept Site Construction & Concrete proposals. We have been contacted by several MWSBE companies and our Construction Inclusion Team is staying busy evaluating our progress to make sure we are on track with the 35% Minority Inclusion Goal.

Walls Art Collaborative

We recently announced another collaboration with metal welder Ian Gallo. He started the process of creating the 15-foot metal statude to be placed on the grounds of our project. Ian grew up in Tallahassee and pursued advanced welding courses at Lively Technical College. While on track to becoming a pipeline welder, Ian quickly grew a love for metal art and an Art Major named Caitlin. Shortly after, Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival presented an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work to the 50,000 festival attendees. Ever since that experience, Ian has been specializing in organic industrial human form and nature inprired art. More than anything, Ian's learned the most about art and beauty from his wife, friends, and family.

Through the announcement of the Walls Art Collaborative, we are assembling an artist line up to contact in the next 2-3 months to discuss plans for the Walls. We look forward to collaborating with all to spark creativity in the heart of our development.

What's next?

With demolition finishing up and construction of the site starting next month, we will be hosting an official groundbreaking ceremony! The ceremony will be held onsite on Thursday, April 14th at 10:00AM. Taking place at 1303 South Monroe Street, it is open to the public and we invite you all to join us in celebrating this next step for the development. Coffee, bagels, and donuts will be served and following the ceremony there will be a shovel photo opportunity.
