Ongoing bus disruption

 

All NZ Bus services have been cancelled since Saturday 7 December.  Auckland Transport has been advised that bus services operated by NZ Bus will not operate until further notice due to industrial action. 

Check out the routes affected here. 

Bus services run by other operators are not affected and train and ferry services will run as normal

Cycle challenge February 2020

 

The Auckland Bike Challenge takes place in February. This is a fun, free competition that’s all about seeing which workplaces can get the most people to ride a bike for just 10 minutes or more. Bragging rights are on the line, as well as some awesome prizes to win, like brand new bikes, restaurant vouchers and loads more. Whether you ride all the time or haven't ridden in years, the Challenge is for you. Check out the latest cycling and walking newsletter from AT.

New tenants for Wynyard Quarter

 

155 Fanshawe Street is set to be home to some big New Zealand names.  Space has been leased to Genesis Energy, Kiwibank and Southern Cross.  Regus NZ have leased space on the ground floor for co-working area.

Future of electric scooters

 

Auckland Council announced four new operators will provide electric scooters around Auckland. They are Beam, Flamingo, Neuron and Jump. Lime and Wave were not successful in gaining new licenses. The new operators are allowed to collectively put 3200 scooters on Auckland streets.

Car share policy released

 

Auckland Transport’s policy on public shared vehicles has just been released. The policy gives guidance on how approval of shared vehicle organisations will work. It also outlines how Auckland Transport will interact with operators, including the process to apply for new shared spaces in and around the city.

TravelWise Choices winners 2018

 

Last month Auckland Transport announced the winners for 2019. These included Consult Recruitment, Myles Dalton, Jasmax and Auckland Museum.  KPMG in Wynyard Quarter were highly commended for their electric bike scheme.

Free ride home on 20th December

 

Auckland Transport is making travel on buses, trains and some ferries free Friday 20 December from 4pm.  Auckland Transport wants to make sure everyone gets home safely. According to Police the Friday before Christmas is one of the worst days of the year for drink-driving.  This is one initiative to reduce drink-driving.  This offer will enable anyone in Auckland to get travel out and/or get home for free.
