MAY NEWSLETTER

Welcome to my May Newsletter - it's hard to believe that it's nearly Summer already, although the weather is not totally convincing some days!

The year 2018 to date has been very exciting; it has been fantastic that I have been able to meet so many interested art lovers at all the events I've been at, not least those who have so kindly given my art new homes.

One of my latest pieces (shown above) is Hay Tor, Dartmoor, which has attracted many comments from people who remember visiting or even climbing to the top.  It's one of my growing collection of British landscapes, with plans to add views, including Cornwall and the Cotswolds soon.

I have a number of projects on the go and other Art Fairs and Exhibitions planned through the rest of 2018, some of which are listed below.  Naturally, details of all my artwork, future events and my blog are all on my website www.bearclausedesigns.com

I hope you enjoy looking through this Newsletter and, as always, I'd be delighted to hear from you or meet you at the various events.

RECENT EVENTS

FLUX Exhibition

Chelsea College of Arts

I was very pleased to be invited to take part in the FLUX Exhibition held in the Chelsea College of Arts recently.

The variety and standard of other artists' works was staggering and it was an honour to be included.

Reading

Contemporary Art Fair

Always a pleasure to have been in one of the events organised by "Contemporary Art Fairs" (others include Windsor and Sandown Park, Esher).

Despite a warm weekend, it was good to meet so many art lovers (and purchasers).

A very successful show for me - many thanks to all.

Grid Art Fair

London

This was the first Grid Art Fair held in London and it was good to meet so many other artists with such a variety of work - truly inspirational.

It always strange to be "papped" but I was happy to show off my new shirt (based on the piece behind me!)

SOME NEW ARTWORK

The Cinque Terre Collection

I am now pleased to announce that the 3rd of the 5 Cinque Terre villages in my collection is now completed and available.

"Manarola" is the second smallest of the 5 villages and, blessed with more grapevines than any of the others, is famous for its sweet Sciacchetrà.

It is also claimed to be the oldest of the Cinque Terre.

Well underway is No.4 in the collection, namely "Corniglia".  So far, 2,696 triangles have been drawn, though the final tally is anyone's guess!

This is the only village with no direct access to the sea, sitting atop a high cliff, only accessible by steep pathways.

The final village ("Monterosso al Mare") will be completed in time for my Solo Exhibition in July.

COMING SOON - NEW ULTRA EDITIONS

I am excited to announce that most of my Artworks will be available in a new format as "Ultra Editions".  These will be in large formats ranging from 76cm x 76cm to the largest at 100cm x 150cm.

Produced by a unique technique using Durospec, an face archival mounting solution (also known as Perspex Reverse or Face Mounting), they are bonded using a wet-mounting technique, and come with an advanced backing substrates including 3mm Dibond.

Once the Perspex has been bonded to the front of the print, the refraction of light through the Perspex gives a high definition effect and brilliant colour, with stunning flawless results that will last for many years.  The finished piece is supplied ready to hang on the wall, eliminating the need for a picture frame and is now widely shown in galleries and exhibitions.

This exciting new edition will be available to order online soon, but may already be ordered directly at the Art Fairs and Exhibitions I am attending.

Please email for more details.

I am excited to announce I will be holding my Debut Solo Exhibition in Brighton this summer when I will be revealing the completed Cinque Terre collection for the first time, as well as showcasing a wide selection of my portfolio.

I will be in attendance for the duration of the exhibition and hope to meet friends and supporters - further details to follow.

and Finally...

I am sure that most of you will have heard about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that will be coming into force from 25th May this year.  Indeed, I'm sure we are all receiving requests to 'sign up' again to various newsletters and online magazines, etc.

I will be sending out a further mail in the next few days to ask if you would like to continue receiving my occasional newsletters, with easy instructions on how to do so.

In the meantime, thank you again for showing your interest and support by reading this newsletter - I hope to see you soon at one of the events later this year!

Kind regards,

Andy Walker
