Greetings and happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are all doing well. It's been a few months since my last newsletter, so I thought I'd share some fun things I've been working on in my studio as well as other news! |

Spring is just around the corner and our Italian art retreat is coming up soon! Join me and Danielle Oteri of Feast Travel on May 20th on a tour of the beautiful Cilento Coast in Southern Italy. It will be a week of painting, drawing, eating and marveling at the beauty of it all! We will stay at the Borgo La Pietraia, the most stunning resort on the mountain with a view of the sea. Each day will start with a low-stress art class. All artistic levels and interests are welcome, from beginner to advanced! (Our fall retreats had painters, fiber artists, photographers and writers too!) Click on the link below to see the prices and details of the tour! Deadline to sign up is April 1st.

In September I was asked to create a live painting during the opening of the new gallery space of the Swann Auction House in NYC. It was a thrill to paint live, and to try to capture the amazing energy and people of the party! The finished painting was purchased by the gallery, you can visit one of their awesome shows and maybe you'll see it there! Click below to see a time lapse video of my painting. In 2024 I would love to do more live drawing events like this one!

I closed 2023 by painting many private commissions, mostly portraits, mostly holiday gifts! I had so much fun with each one. On the right is the 3rd painting commission I did for the same family! I love them so much! Paintings make for very special gifts indeed! If you want to learn about my process and pricing please feel free to send me an email: Jennykroik@gmail.com You can also see a catalog of existing paintings available to buy on my website.

For a second year in a row my art was used to decorate the shop windows of the Dr. Barbara Sturm Cosmetic boutiques and spas for the holiday season. This included several locations in New York City and a few around the world. It was quite a thrill to walk by the shops in NYC and see my art in the window! The Sturm team did such a beautiful job constructing the display, and some of the pieces moved and lit up, so that was extra fun! I'm hoping to do more work like this in the future, it was definitely one of my favorite projects. Click the link below to see a little video I compiled with all the displays in and outside the stores.

Another fun project I recently completed was a cover for Columbia University Magazine, Winter 2023-2024 issue, that came out in January. I loved working with art director Len Small on the art! If you are on the Columbia University campus you might find an issue of the magazine with my cover, or click below to read this issue online!
