Dear friends,
This August 18 and 20 we are honored to host the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Lincoln String Quartet at ChamberFest Brown County! Violinists Lei Hou, Qing Hou, violist Larry Neuman and cellist John Sharp will be performing on two memorable evenings:
- The concert on August 18, entitled "Passion and Despair," will also feature pianist and Professor Emerita of Piano at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Elisabeth Pridonoff, as well as our own Artistic Director, pianist Andreas Ioannides. The program includes the impassioned Brahms Piano Quartet no. 1 and Franck's otherworldly Piano Quintet. It will take place at the Nashville United Methodist Church at 7 pm.

- On August 20, the Lincoln String Quartet will join forces with Pacifica Quartet members Mark Holloway (viola) and Brandon Vamos (cello) for our celebratory conclusion to the festival, the Chamber Music Gala! This program will feature the uplifting "American" Quartet by Dvořák and the glorious Brahms Sextet no. 2. Here is what Larry Neuman had to say on behalf of the Lincoln String Quartet:
"Each piece we are playing at the festival is a gem, but I think we are most excited about playing the Brahms string sextet with members of the Pacifica Quartet. I haven't seen Brandon in about 20 years, and I'm eager to meet and work with their new violist, Mark Holloway." - Larry Neuman
The Chamber Music Gala will be our only event taking place at the Brown County Playhouse:
