Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch

DeliFrance have an All Day Breakfast menu and it looks good! It includes an Egg and Cheese Bagel (Rs750), an English Muffin with Grilled Chicken, Egg & Cheese (Rs500); a baguette with sprats and pol sambol (Rs400); and a selection of croissants with fillings including peach, peanut butter or blueberry (Rs750 each). These are available from DeliFrance in One Galle Face or Alexandra Place or for delivery.

Crystal Jade have introduced an Executive Lunch for takeaway or delivery. It includes veg and egg fried rice with Kung Pao Chicken or Fish and French Beans or Kangkung in chili sauce and is priced at Rs1,500 and is available from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

3 Brothers Italian Bistro have added two new dishes to their Specials Menu: Pan Roasted fillet of Modha at Rs2,100 and a Salami and Mushroom Pizza for Rs2,800. 

High Tea and Dinner

Ceylon Curry Club has added some new dishes to their delivery menu. Try a Chicken Kottu, Prawn String Hoppers Kottu or a Pork Kottu, for prices from Rs825 to Rs890. Delivery is free within 10km of the restaurant, or takeaway is also available.

Thursday Night is Mongolian Barbecue Night at Pegasus Reef. Enjoy the fresh sizzle of the live cooking station, for Rs3,200 per person.

And Saturday is International Feast Buffet Night at the Hilton Colombo Residences, with five cuisines - Sri Lankan, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Western. The buffet starts at 7.00pm and you can keep going back for more until 10.30pm, for a cost of Rs5,200 per person.

Happy Hours & Ladies' Night

Level 4 has introduced a range of  cocktails for their Happy Hour, with a buy one, get one free deal. These include Mojito, Martini Love, Blue Lady, Blue Kamikaze and more. They are priced from Rs1,500 to Rs2,250 - and remember, that's for two, during happy hour which is actually a full four hours, from 5.00pm to 9.00pm daily.

There's a new Happy Hour at Punch Island Bar at Food Studio, Colombo City Centre. On Wednesdays and Sundays they have a "2 for the price of 1" deal on selected cocktails and local spirits, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.  A perfect end to the shopping trip?

Live Music and DJs

All gigs were off last week and some are still being rescheduled. This week's gigs are still being announced; for an up to date list of what band is playing where, you can check our gig diary at any time. However here are some highlights: 

On Thursday, Cold Sweat are at Allstar and Warehouse Project at Curve Bar,

On Friday you'll find The Notion at In on the Green, Mirage at The Irish, OiC at The Joint and The Redeemers at Curve. 

On Saturday Cold Sweat will be at The Joint and Mirage will be at Curve.

"Hope 22" is a special even at Zouk this weekend. There are nine DJs on Friday night and seven DJs on Saturday night, but the special bit is that it's supporting people affected by the current situation in Sri Lanka. Zouk pledges that 50% of the profits from both nights will be given to people in need, through charities and their own teams.

Also on the decks, "Butterfly" at Botanik on Friday features hip hop. Afro beats, grime, dancehall and more from DJs Dirty Dzn, Scorpio, Clifford Isaac and Tharin.  Still at Botanik, on Saturday it's "Electronique" with cocktails from 5pm then DJs Sajay, Kyotto, Budi and Clifford Isaac from 9pm,

Other Events

Salsa Dancing is back at Playtrix on Thursday from 8.00pm, with the added bonus of deals on Mojito and Cuba Libre cocktails. 

The Dance Lab has a range of classes for young kids, older kids and adults. Saturday morning is ballet morning: for kids aged 3-4 years from 9.15 to 10.00, followed by time for 4-6 years.  There are classes for hip-hop and commercial on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for teens and adults respectively. 

Something else for our young ones: Yoga and Mindfulness for Kids. There are classes at the Ballet School on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4,.30pm.

Art lovers, this weekend there is an  solo exhibition of paintings by Sudarshika Jayalath, called "Muddled Mind". It's at Gallery FourLife on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
