Your CV Headings: Keep Them Clean When choosing the names for the headings for your resume, it's best to keep them clean and simple. You want to facilitate the scanning and locating of pertinent information at a glance. Also, the order in which you list your information is important, always making sure to keep the most recent and relevant information at the top.

Recommended CV headings, in this order - some have been marked Optional (O): 

  • Education

  • Experience (you could also use "Teaching Experience" and "Leadership Experience", if the case fits for you)

  • Other Experience (O)

  • Professional Development

  • Additional Skills / Certifications / Other Qualifications (O)

  • Memberships / Committees (O)

  • Publications (O)

  • Extracurricular Activities (O)

  • Interests / Hobbies

  • References.
