Hey friends! I hope you're all doing well. Tomorrow I get my first dose of the COVID vaccine. I can't wait to be fully vaccinated so I can see my friends and family again. <3 If you follow me on Instagram you know I've been using Notion and I did an Instagram story about it. Below I'm sharing some more details! |

This month I've been working on revisions for Rhythm of the Stars. After I received my editor's feedback I put it into a revision plan by using Notion. If you don't know what Notion is or how to use it, there are lots of greal videos out there to help you. Including one from Sarra Cannon on her Heartbreathings Youtube Channe. |

How I created my revision plan: 1. I added a calendar at the top of the page to keep track of what I planned to work on each day. 2. I made headers for each section of my editor's feedback letter. Such as Big Picture, Worldbuilding, Pacing, Characters, and more. 3. Under each section I added a To Do list and pasted my editor's comments. As I completed or fixed an issue, I marked the comments as completed. 4. When I started revising I scanned through the list and found the easiest things to do first and focused just on those. I didn't allow myself work on anything else. If I was in the middle of a scene and thought of something else to fix, I would make a note in the comments to work on it later. |
|
5. Once I finished with the easy things, I focused on the more difficult issues such as the secondary world worldbuilding. Before working on it, I had to do some major brainstorming with my CP. Once I had a detailed idea, I sent my notes to my editor and she loves the new idea! :) Adding in the new secondary worldbuilding has taken a while, but I feel like was the right decision to change it, so I hope you all love it. Note; I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I have a secondary world in Rhythm of the Stars. I'll share more about that another time. I hope to finish and send my revisions to my editor for round two in the next week or two. Wish me luck! |

I know Notion is overwhelming when you first log on. I didn't use it for a while because I was so unsure how to use it. However, I've had questions from other writers on how to use it as a writer, so I made a post on my website about how I specifically use Notion and a few tips. |

The results of the Short Story survey showed that most of you want to wait to read the short story. So I will hold off on sharing right now. But later, when I get closer to publishing Rhythm of the Stars, I'll share some snippets from the story of Laurelanna Edwin. For Rhythm of the Stars info, character aesthetics, a crystal quiz, and more check out my Books page. |

My editor suggested I shelf my debut novel under Supernatural/Paranormal instead of Contemporary Fantasy. The title I have right now... Rhythm of the Stars doesn't fit the Supernatural/Paranormal genre. So I need to change the title. Help me decide the title by clicking on the button below and taking the survey. | | |
