Fall is my favorite season for many, many reasons, and I know I'm not alone in this. Ha. My reasons include: the crisp weather that requires a sweatshirt or at least a scarf, the subtle smoky scent in the air, s'mores, and alllll the aesthetics. OH! It includes my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving) and THE COLORS. And of course, POE. |

When I was teaching, October was always the start of my Edgar Allan Poe unit where we'd dissect "The Raven" and read "The Tell-Tale Heart." (Christopher Lee did an excellent recitation of both: Raven & TTH) Sigh. It's the only part about teaching I miss! We would always end the unit with putting together a mock trial for the narrator of the TTH. I got to dress up as the judge (complete with real gavel), and the kids had a blast. Oh, and The Simpson's rendition of "The Raven" was also a bit hit. Now, Octobers look a little different, and I am 100000000% okay with that. Either way, Anne said it best because I really am glad I get to live in a world where there are Octobers. |

Beta Round 2 has commenced! I've also entered into Pitch Wars and finished revisions on TPoSS #1! Yay! I've had a busy few weeks, which is why this newsletter is a little late, ha. I'm still going to be working on TPoSS #2 while I wait for all the beta feedback to come in, but I'm also working on another project just to see if I can flesh it out. I'm rather excited about it, so we shall see! Annnd as usual, I'm hosting LIVE writing sprints on my YouTube channel every Tues 8:30 - 10:30 am EST. I've also moved my THURSDAY night sprints to 7 pm EST! Hope to see you there! |

The Exiled Queen: This is my second read through of the series, and I just...I didn't realize just how lovely Cinda Williams Chima's writing is. I love the pacing, characters, plot, setting...everything. Ha. I remember loving the series when I read it a few years back, but it's even better the second time through! I haven't read the second series set in this world, though I started the first one book in it. Confession: I got rather angry at the first chapter or so and threw the book across the room and never finished. I might pick it back up. I won't say why I hated it here because SPOILERS. lol (click HERE to purchase The Demon King, the first book in the series) Incendiary: I got this one in a book box, and I love it so far.
