In this innovative multi-faceted program, the Skylark Ensemble will offer musical reflections and reactions to the visual arts from the ancient to the modern. |

Thursday, April 11th, 2019 6 PM – 8 PM Fitchburg Historical Society, 781 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 Celebration of Fitchburg’s Poets at Community Open Mic The Fitchburg Historical Society will open its doors to Fitchburg writers and poetry lovers on Thursday, April 11, 2019, when they will present a Community Open Mic Night at their headquarters at 781 Main Street in Fitchburg. At the Historical Society event, both Fitchburg students and members of the general public will sign up to read their poetry or other writing, for up to three minutes each. |

Saturday, April 13th, 2019 10 AM – 3 PM 365 Lindell Ave, Leominster, MA 01453 6th Annual Central MA Science Festival On Saturday, April 13th, Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster will present the 6th Annual Central MA Science Festival. This year’s Festival will feature a 3D street painting illusion that will make the pavement appear to dip inward and objects project outward. The unique chalk project will be led by internationally renowned innovators Kurt Wenner, of Italy, and Julie Kirk-Purcell, of California. |

Saturday, April 20, 2019 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM – 9 PM Thayer Memorial Library, 717 Main Street, Lancaster, MA All the World’s a Stage: Exploring the Playwright’s Craft Join Seven Bridge Writers’ Collaborative for a full day of drama workshops exploring the art and craft of writing for the stage, including play development, songwriting, exploring plot and character, and performing one’s writing. Seminars run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by an evening of performance by conference presenters: playwright, Sally Cragin; radio performer, Jeff Van Amburgh; and musician and songwriter, Nancy Beaudette. Fees vary, and preregistration is required. |

Thursday, April 25th – Sunday, April 28th, 2019 Times vary, see the FAM website for details Fitchburg Art Museum, 185 Elm St, Fitchburg, MA 01420 21st Annual Art in Bloom at FAM The Fitchburg Art Museum and Laurelwood Garden Club present the 21st Annual Art in Bloom from Thursday, April 25th through Sunday, April 28th. For these four days, the Museum galleries will feature flower arrangements created by local florists, garden clubs, and individuals interpreting the art in our galleries. Come see floral interpretations of special exhibits; Fire and Light: Otto Piene in Groton, 1983–2014, Broad Strokes, and The Collected Image, which showcases several photography portfolios. The exhibitions Moving Objects – which features Oceanic and African Art from our collection, Evoking Eleanor and Discover Ancient Egypt continue to be on display and interpreted as well. |

Friday, April 26th, 2019 6:30 PM in the Garden Room Fitchburg Public Library, 610 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 Jazzin’ the Blues with Paul Speidel Please join the library to celebrate Jazz History Month with a free concert on April 26, 2019, at 6:30 PM in the Garden Room! Paul Speidel will bring us on a lively excursion through the history of American Jazz & Blues music with commentary and performance. Paul has performed at major clubs and festivals in the Greater Boston area, such as Scullers, Ryles, Johnny D's, Acton Jazz Cafe, and many others. Please enter by the Newton Place entrance as the rest of the Library will be closed. This is a free program. Free parking is available in the lot at the corner of Boulder Drive and Newton Place. |
