THE WATER CONFERENCE

In early September, The Water Conference was held in Coralville. As part of the pre conference tour, we visited the University of Iowa's IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering Lab where they focus on the understanding of ecological impacts from navigation locks and dams on fish and rivers. We then went to the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm leaning about the complicated past and how the property has been renewed and is now a working community farm. Overall it was three productive days spent with watershed colleagues, listening to past experiences, learning from research and strategizing future projects with significant impact.
