Your Cover Letter: Getting a Work Visa After writing your "elevator pitch" in the 1st paragraph of your cover letter (check out June 5th's Tip #7 for more information), you'll want to include the information schools will need to acquire you a work visa, when writing your second paragraph. International schools and HR departments will want to know what kind of teaching license and higher degrees you have, your nationality, and years of teaching experience. This is also a good place to mention the different curricula with which you've worked and any expertise you have (technology, specialization, etc). Read on for more info... |

What to include in the second paragraph of your letter of interest: - Your teaching license or certificate;
- Any higher degrees you have (ex. M.A., M.Ed.)
- Your nationality;
- Number of years you've been teaching, adding a geographical region if it's relevant (ex. 5 years in the Middle East = when applying to another school in the same region);
- Curricula with which you've worked (ex. IB, AP, IGCSE) and
- Any expertise, specialization or relevant certification you have (ex. Google Certified Educator, Apple Teacher, Cat 2 TOK)
