Dear Breathers,
I am sharing with you an Instagram post I put up today, about the years when I first moved to Mykonos with my son and lived in a very small apartment in the old city.
When walking through town I sometimes follow the maze to a younger time. Up these steps and inside this pale blue door is where Alex was a toddler, and I turned thirty. We didn't have much, but oh, we had fun. I had a hot plate where I cooked my Mom's spaghetti and meatballs. I washed dishes in the tiny bathroom with the even tinier sink. We took winter walks and sat to watch the wind whip the waves, while munching on a snack and talking of anything. We knew how to fill time with ourselves. One day I bought our very first video player and we watched Disney as a luxury. As there were no phones or computers yet, not much disturbed our evenings except our laughter, old music cassettes, or an occasional cockroach. Even that felt funny. And best of all, what I am happiest about, is that I knew this simplicity was very special.
I find in our breathes, we become like this, filling time with our essence, finding life in the simple and exquisite inhale and exhale.
Let's breathe consciously for thirty minutes and follow with a third eye meditation for another ten minutes.
It's a good idea to have your journal nearby, as you may want to write down some insights when you finish. It's also nice to have a candle or two lit, a glass of water, or tea, a pillow and a blanket (you will be lying down). On the zoom screen, you have the choice to keep your camera on or off. Do what feels best for you. This is about you creating a practice space that feels extra special.
Below is your invitation to the Breathing Meditation. Please share it freely, all are welcome.
With Love,
Lucy
