Stream Treatment Information

Outlet protection refers to the use of rip rap or stone to protect the space between a stormwater outlet and the creek. Lining the space between the flared end section of the stormwater pipe and the stream provides a protected path for rainfall to travel to get to the creek. This will prevent erosion and will lengthen the life of our valuable stormwater infrastructure within the Village of Algonquin.
