Hello all you sprightly subscribers and welcome to my February newsletter. I am nearing the end of my 8 week course with Lynda Maynard to sew up the Sienna Maker Jacket by Closet Core Patterns, and have learnt so many new techniques. I love her attention to detail and she has made lots of great suggestions on making that jacket look great and stand the test of time. This includes lining the pockets which adds such a special touch.
I also love the channel stitching she taught for the belt and loop.
This is my first time doing Hong Kong binding and I love the pretty effect. I couldn't resist adding a cute label to the back facing that definitely tells the truth!
New blog post
I put together a new blog post with details on how I lined the pockets, stopped my second attempt going wonky, and did some neat topstitching that I was really proud of!
The jacket is coming together nicely, and I hope to share a few finished photos of it next month.
