THOUSAND FACED THEATRE'S AUGUST NEWSLETTER |
Hello dear readers, and welcome once again to my virtual company scrapbook. This month is filled with lots of personal updates, and is decorated to subliminally manifest our first ever TFTC orchard retreat. Read on to see what's at the core of all things TFTC! |
As I previewed last month, a number of Thousand Faced members and collaborators were showcased in a 10th Anniversary concert of Ryan Scott Oliver's smash song-cycle 35mm. Luckily for you, they just released all the footage from both nights' shows! So, by popular demand (hi mom!) I've attached a few below for your enjoyment. |
Firstly, Lera Zamaraeva in "Transition 2" |
Yours Truly in "Cut You a Piece" |
And Miranda Luze in "The Ballad of Sara Berry" |
And those are just the ones of us. There are so many more amazing pieces sung by incredibly talented artists I can't even begin to list them all. So, if you need to scratch your theatre itch, you can head over to Actor Therapy's youtube channel and binge to your heart's delight. |
In other news, the only performer in the company not featured in 35MM is Director of Development Nathan David Smith, and for good reason. Nathan is finishing up his time at Millbrook Playhouse in the ensemble of RENT, but don't expect him back in the city for long. He'll be leaving us after just two week's time to play Will in American Idiot at American Stage Theater in St. Petersburg, FL. I know this is great news and all, and yes, I'm very proud, but I just can't help thinking WHY DOESN'T HE WANT TO HANG OUT WITH ME?! |

We've hit peak birthday season here at Thousand Faced, with both General Manager Matt Schultz, and Executive Director Miranda Luze celebrating their births in the month of July. Pictured below is Matt and Kellie's daughter wrapped in the excitement of the times. |

On top of that Director of Media and Marketing Lera Zamaraeva and my girlfriend Ashlee (who is yet to give me any ideas for presents) will celebrate their birthdays in August. And if that weren't enough, collaborators Christa Cornay, Shelby Acosta, and Nachi Lederer (and probably more!) have all had birthdays in the last month. Lastly, another of our collaborators Anna Quirk is even having a show this month to commemorate her glamorous entrance into a new decade! If you're in NYC and are LIVING for all these birthdays, or just want to hear beautiful singing by a beautiful person, make your way to the Laurie Beechman on August 17th! You can get tickets here. |

Announcements on the Horizon |
After seeing my new friend Carly Wheeler's performance in the murder mystery play The Art of Killin' It in Brooklyn last week, I'm feeling inspired and thought I might give you all a clue as to something TFTC has in store for Fall '22. I know it seems far away, and with 24 hours in the day, spooky season is coming, and jovial tunes you'll be humming, at a public event headed your way. Yes, that did take me too long to write. Regardless, stay tuned for any project announcements we have coming up, and keep reading the newsletter for all of my aimless musings. Also shout-out to Cassidy Layton for being the newsletters #1 fan, if any of you would like to dispute her title, feel free to hit us up at thousandfacedtheatre@gmail.com to claim your rightful spot as superfan. |
That's all I've got for this edition of the newsletter. Feel free to send any happy birthday or belated birthday wishes to our members on instagram, and while you're there give us a follow @thousandfacedtheatre! Thank you all for reading, and see you next time. Best, Matt and TFTC |
