Blog Post: The Best Travel Hacks for 2022

Okay, this heading is a bit misleading but hear us out  At Abena's Flight Deals (AFD) we're on a mission to make travel throughout Africa and the diaspora effortless, so we're happy to share some flight deals and travel tips for Kenya this week!  After coming back from this beautiful nation, we believe the flight cost is well worth it.   Kenya is widely considered to be one of the most accessible safari destinations in the world. With Nairobi International Airport located within driving distance of the nearest national park, you can land in the morning and be on safari by the afternoon. In addition to the opportunity to see some of Africa’s most iconic animals in their natural habitat, Kenya also offers visitors the chance to go on a cultural experience to learn more about the tribes and religions of the Kenyan people. Last, but certainly not least, the picturesque Indian Ocean coastline of Kenya is home to such famous beach escapes as Mombasa, Malindi, and the quaint island of Lamu.

We want you to explore Africa and the diaspora. However, we recommend that you weigh your own personal risk (AND the risk you pose to others) when traveling during the pandemic.  For those who choose to stay home at this time, planning for mid to late 2022 travel but booking now can help you secure these savings.

Here's how to book:

1. Click on the links above.  If prices have increased, use Google's handy calendar tool to find the best travel dates for your route, by locating the dates with the lowest fares (those highlighted in green).

2.   As always, if your home airport isn't listed above, there might be a cheap flight to this destination available to you!  We found many cheap tickets for Kenya from various cities until March, June, and September of 2022, so enter your desired departure location into Google Flights/Skyscanner and hopefully, you'll get lucky too.

3.  Although there might be lower fares, we recommend booking travel directly with the airline or a reputable third-party site like Expedia or Orbitz.  We also advise double-checking the cancelation/date change policy since most airlines are offering flexible bookings, but these no-cost benefits might not be available through all booking sites.

Best Time to Visit Kenya

There’s no simple ‘best time to visit Kenya’ as good conditions vary across the country, and one person’s ideal weather will be another’s disappointment. Kenya sits right on the equator, with roughly half of the country on either side of the line. That means there aren't four seasons here defined by temperature changes, as you might be used to back home, but instead wet and dry seasons. A major reason to come to Kenya at this time is to witness the Great Migration. Starting in the Serengeti in Tanzania (south of Kenya), millions of wildebeest and zebra move north to the Maasai Mara, on Kenya's southwestern border (August through November). Other, drier times of year (late January and early February), as well as earlier in the main dry season (June and July) are also comfortable times to visit, with good wildlife-sighting opportunities.  This is also the best time for climbing Mt. Kenya and spending time at the beach,
