Better way website launched

Auckland Transport have recently launched a website to try and help Aucklanders understand what is happening in the CBD.  It gives up to date information on projects and road works as well as sharing some thoughts on alternative ways of travelling.  Plenty of good information - plus, check out all the projects on the Progress Auckland website.

Bike challenge results

Congratulations to everyone in Wynyard Quarter who participated in the Bike Challenge during February. In the Auckland region the participants peddled 1,221,602 kms. Wynyard Quarter based businesses clocked up just over 95,000kms, saving over 10 tonnes of CO2.  Four lucky riders from ASB, Datacom, Davanti, and KPMG won the Wynyard Quarter spot prizes.  See the leader board below.

Keep your e bike safe

Recently an e-bike was stolen from a secure area at ASB’s North Wharf site.  The thief followed a staff member into the secure bike area, dumped his bike and left with a new e-bike.  He was wearing a high vis vest with number 14 on the back and a cap.  The offender is confident and probably seeks a new bike when the battery is depleted. The stolen bike is a maroon-red Specialized Vado 4.0 bike. Please share this with your staff to improve safety.

Lessons from London congestion

Britain’s biggest city has almost ground to a halt, thanks to the rise of Uber, delivery drivers – and cycle lanes. Can anything be done to end the gridlock and pollution? Are there lessons to be learnt from the UK?
